Bobodent, 0.5 g/100 g, gel, 10 g
Bobodent is a topical gel for relieving inflammation and pain in the gums during teething and the eruption of wisdom teeth. It contains lidocaine hydrochloride, which acts as a local anesthetic.
Composition
- Active substance: lidocaine hydrochloride 0.5 g/100 g
- Other ingredients: chamomile extract, thyme extract, sorbitol, sodium saccharin, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, carbomer 5984, propylene glycol, disodium edetate, polysorbate 20, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Dosage and Use
- Apply a pea-sized drop to the affected area with a clean finger or cotton swab.
- Use up to 3 times daily (max 6 times), especially after meals and before bedtime.
- Onset: 1–5 minutes; Duration: 15–30 minutes.

- Inflamed gums during teething or eruption of wisdom teeth
- Inflammation of oral mucosa and gums
Side effects
Like all medicines, Bobodent can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Possible effects include allergic reactions (hives or swelling), numbness of taste buds, taste disturbances, and temporary loss of gag reflex.
Warnings
- Contains propylene glycol, methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoates, and sorbitol—may cause irritation or allergic reactions.
- Keep out of reach of children; store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
- Consult a doctor if using other medications, especially local anesthetics, MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, or anticoagulants.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor; lidocaine crosses placenta and breast milk.
