Ibum Forte is an oral suspension with a pleasant strawberry flavor, intended for infants from 3 months of age and older children. The active ingredient is ibuprofen, which belongs to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and provides analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects.

The concentrated Forte formulation contains 200 mg of ibuprofen in 5 ml of suspension, allowing effective symptom relief with a small volume of liquid. The dosing syringe included in the package enables precise and convenient administration, even for the youngest children.

Action

Ibum Forte reduces pain, lowers fever, and alleviates inflammation by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and fever. It helps improve comfort and well-being in children during infections and painful conditions.

Indications

• Fever of various origins, including colds, influenza, and post-vaccination reactions
• Mild to moderate pain, such as headache, throat pain, and muscle pain
• Toothache, pain after dental procedures, and teething-related pain
• Joint and bone pain due to musculoskeletal injuries (e.g. sprains)
• Pain caused by soft tissue injuries
• Postoperative pain
• Ear pain associated with middle ear inflammation

Composition

Active substance: ibuprofen 200 mg per 5 ml of suspension.

Excipients: liquid maltitol, glycerol, gum, xanthan gum, sodium saccharin, sodium benzoate, fumaric acid, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, strawberry flavor, purified water.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. The dose depends on the child’s body weight. The medicine should be administered at intervals of at least 6 hours. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

• 3–6 months (5–7.6 kg): 1.25 ml up to 3 times daily
• 6–12 months (7.7–9 kg): 1.25 ml up to 3–4 times daily
• 1–3 years (10–15 kg): 2.5 ml up to 3 times daily
• 4–6 years (16–20 kg): 3.75 ml up to 3 times daily
• 7–9 years (21–29 kg): 5 ml up to 3 times daily
• 10–12 years (30–40 kg): 7.5 ml up to 3 times daily
• Over 40 kg: 7.5–10 ml, maximum 3–4 times daily

In infants under 6 months of age, use only after consulting a doctor. Do not use for longer than 3 days without medical advice.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen, other NSAIDs, or any of the ingredients
• Active or previous stomach or duodenal ulcer, bleeding, or perforation
• Severe liver, kidney, or heart failure
• Bleeding disorders or unexplained blood formation disorders
• Last three months of pregnancy

Warnings and precautions

Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if the child has gastrointestinal diseases, kidney or liver disorders, asthma, allergies, or is taking other medicines, especially NSAIDs or anticoagulants. Avoid simultaneous use with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.

Storage

Store in the original, tightly closed packaging at a temperature below 25°C, out of the sight and reach of children. Shelf life after first opening: 6 months.
