Mucopect Kids is a gooseberry-flavored medicinal syrup intended for children aged 6 and over and adults. It is used for the treatment of coughs associated with thick, sticky mucus that is difficult to expectorate.

Composition

• Active substance: Carbocisteine – 50 mg/ml
• Excipients: methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), caramel (E150d), sucrose, gooseberry flavor, sodium hydroxide, purified water

Dosage and Administration

• Children 6–12 years: 5 ml, 3 times daily
• Adolescents and adults over 12 years: initially 15 ml, 3 times daily; after improvement, 10 ml, 3 times daily

Do not use for more than 4–5 days without consulting a doctor. Take the syrup using the provided measuring cup and avoid taking it within 4 hours of bedtime.

Action

Mucopect Kids contains carbocisteine, which thins thick mucus and promotes easier expectoration, improving respiratory comfort and reducing coughing attacks.

Indications

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to carbocisteine or any excipients

Side Effects

• Common: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (rare)
• Very rare: gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching)
• Unknown frequency: headaches, bullous dermatitis, mucous membrane inflammation

Warnings and Precautions

• Increased fluid intake recommended during treatment
• Caution in patients with asthma, bronchospasm, peptic ulcer, weakened cough reflex, or acute respiratory failure
• Do not combine with antitussive drugs or medications that reduce bronchial mucus secretion
• Contains sucrose and methyl parahydroxybenzoate

Storage

Store below 25°C, out of reach of children. Shelf life after first opening: 3 months. Do not use if syrup shows signs of deterioration.
