LevoDril Syrup 60 mg/10 ml, 120 ml

LevoDril is an orange-flavored medicinal syrup containing levodropropizine, designed for the symptomatic treatment of dry, non-productive cough in children over 2 years of age and adults.

Composition

  • Active substance: Levodropropizine – 60 mg per 10 ml
  • Excipients: sucrose, citric acid monohydrate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), orange flavour, ethanol-containing liquid orange 02 278 NF, purified water

Dosage and Administration

  • Children 2–10 years (10–20 kg): 3 ml, 3 times daily
  • Children 2–10 years (20–30 kg): 5 ml, 3 times daily
  • Adults: 10 ml, 3 times daily

Take the syrup between meals, with at least 6 hours between doses. Do not use for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.

Action

LevoDril acts by suppressing the cough reflex while relieving bronchospasm, helping to reduce the frequency and intensity of dry cough.

Indications

  • Symptomatic treatment of dry, non-productive cough

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to levodropropizine or excipients
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Individuals with abundant bronchial secretions or impaired bronchial epithelial cilia function
  • Children under 2 years of age

Side Effects

  • Very rare: skin reactions (rash, hives, epidermolysis), gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), allergic reactions (swelling, shortness of breath), hypoglycemic coma
  • Other rare effects: dizziness, tremor, palpitations, hypotension, asthenia, shortness of breath

Warnings and Precautions

  • Use with caution in elderly patients, those with severe renal impairment, and individuals taking sedatives
  • Persistent cough for more than 7 days requires medical consultation
  • Contains sucrose, propylene glycol, and parahydroxybenzoates

Storage

Store below 25°C, out of reach of children. Shelf life after first opening: 6 months.

Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, and Children

Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Safe for children over 2 years.
