Bronchosol, (218 mg + 0.989 mg)/5 ml, syrup, 100 ml

Bronchosol is a traditional herbal syrup used to treat coughs with difficulty expectorating thick mucus and to stimulate secretion of liquid mucus in the bronchi.

Features

  • Herbal Ingredients: Contains thyme herb (Thymus vulgaris) and primrose root (Primula veris) extracts, combined with thymol for an expectorant effect.
  • Traditional Medicine: Effectiveness is based on long-term traditional use for respiratory ailments.
  • Low Alcohol Content: Contains no more than 0.5% ethanol.

Composition

  • Active ingredients per 100 ml: 4360 mg of dense complex extract (3:1) of thyme and primrose, 19.8 mg thymol
  • Excipients: orange flavor, sucrose, purified water

Dosage and Administration

  • Children 4–6 years: 2.5 ml, 3 times daily
  • Children 6–12 years: 5 ml, 3 times daily
  • Youth 12–18 years: 10 ml, 3 times daily
  • Adults: 15 ml, 3 times daily

Shake before use. Use the enclosed measuring cup. Take the last dose at least 3 hours before bedtime. Use for up to 7 days; consult a doctor if symptoms persist.

Action

Bronchosol stimulates mucus secretion in the bronchi and has an expectorant effect thanks to the combination of thyme herb extract, primrose root, and thymol.

Indications

  • Cough with difficulty expectorating
  • Upper respiratory tract infections

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to thymol, thyme, primrose, or any ingredients of the syrup
  • Hypersensitivity to plants from the Lamiaceae (Labiatae) family
  • Children with a history of acute croupous laryngitis
  • Asthma

Side Effects

No side effects have been reported so far. Possible side effects may include gastric disorders, nausea, vomiting, or allergic reactions. Incidence is unknown.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Exercise caution in people with stomach irritation, ulcers, or inflammation
  • 5 ml syrup contains ~4.2 g sugar (0.35 bread units)
  • Store below 25°C, keep out of reach of children

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation. Consult your doctor before use.

Use in Children and Adolescents

Not recommended for children under 4 years of age.
