Allertec WZF, 10 mg, coated tablets, 10 pcs

Allertec WZF contains cetirizine dihydrochloride, an effective antihistamine for adults and children over 6 years. It relieves symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, and other allergy-related conditions affecting skin and respiratory system.

Composition

  • Active substance: Cetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg per film-coated tablet.
  • Excipients: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, povidone K-25, magnesium stearate, sodium carboxymethyl starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium lauryl sulfate, hypromellose, macrogol 6000.

Dosage and Administration

  • Children 6–12 years: half a tablet (5 mg) twice daily.
  • Adolescents 12+ and adults: 1 tablet (10 mg) once daily.
  • Swallow with water; can be taken with or without food. Tablet may be divided into equal doses.
  • Treatment duration varies individually; consult a doctor if used longer than 10 days.

Indications

  • Relief of nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, red or watery eyes, itchy nose and eyes).
  • Relief of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives).

Action

Allertec WZF blocks H1 histamine receptors, reducing allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, redness, and discomfort of skin and mucous membranes.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, piperazine derivatives, or any excipients.
  • Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <10 ml/min).
  • Lactose intolerance or other sugar intolerances.

Side Effects

May cause fatigue, drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, sore throat, rhinitis. Rarely: rapid heartbeat, swelling, allergic reactions, liver dysfunction, weight gain, confusion, depression, hallucinations, blurred vision, urination disorders, angioedema, drug rash. Consult your doctor if severe reactions occur.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Consult your doctor if you have kidney problems, epilepsy, history of seizures, or difficulty urinating.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
  • May affect allergy test results.
  • May cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
  • Keep out of reach of children and store below 25°C, in original packaging.

Use in Children

Not recommended for children under 6 years.

Interactions

May interact with central nervous system depressants, such as sedatives, strong painkillers, or alcohol. Inform your doctor of all medications you are taking.
