Amertil Bio is a medicinal product containing cetirizine dihydrochloride, an effective antihistamine used in adults and children over 6 years. It relieves symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, such as runny or itchy nose, sneezing, red or watery eyes, and also helps reduce symptoms of chronic urticaria.

Composition

• Active substance: Cetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg per film-coated tablet.
• Excipients: Tablet core: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, crospovidone type A, magnesium stearate; Film-coating: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 400.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 1 tablet once daily.
• Children 6–12 years: ½ tablet twice daily.
• Swallow tablets with a glass of liquid; can be taken with or without food.
• Duration of treatment depends on individual needs; consult a doctor for prolonged use.

Indications

• Relief of nasal and eye allergy symptoms: runny, itchy, or congested nose, frequent sneezing, red or watery eyes.
• Relief of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives).

Action

Amertil Bio blocks H1 histamine receptors, reducing allergic reactions such as itching, swelling, redness, and discomfort of the skin and mucous membranes.

Contraindications

• Severe kidney disease.
• Allergy to cetirizine or any excipients.
• Lactose intolerance or other sugar intolerances.

Side Effects

Common: drowsiness, dizziness, headache, sore throat, rhinitis, diarrhea, nausea, dry mouth, fatigue. Uncommon: agitation, sensory disturbances, abdominal pain, itching, rash, asthenia, malaise. Rare: allergic reactions, depression, hallucinations, aggressive behavior, confusion, insomnia, convulsions, tachycardia, abnormal liver function, hives, swelling, weight gain. Very rare: thrombocytopenia, habit spasms, fainting, tremor, taste disturbances, blurred vision, angioedema, urinary disorders.

Warnings and Precautions

• Consult your doctor if you have kidney problems, difficulty urinating, or a history of epilepsy or seizures.
• Amertil Bio may affect allergy skin test results; consult your doctor if testing is planned.
• Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
• Keep out of reach of children; store below 25°C in original packaging.
