Hitaxa Fast Kids, 0.5 mg, oral solution, 60 ml

Hitaxa Fast Kids is an antiallergic oral solution for children that provides effective relief from allergy symptoms without causing drowsiness. It helps control allergic reactions and alleviates symptoms such as runny or itchy nose, sneezing, watery or red eyes, and hives.

Composition

• Active substance: Desloratadine 0.5 mg per 1 ml of oral solution.
• Excipients: Hypromellose type 2910, sucralose (E955), citric acid anhydrous, sodium citrate, liquid non-crystallising sorbitol (E420), propylene glycol (E1520), Tutti Frutti flavour (propylene glycol, flavourings), purified water.

Dosage and Administration

• Children 2–5 years: 2.5 ml (half a 5 ml measuring spoon) once daily. Only use after diagnosis of allergy.
• Children 6–11 years: 5 ml (one 5 ml measuring spoon) once daily.
• Adults and adolescents 12+ years: 10 ml (two 5 ml measuring spoons) once daily.
• Swallow the solution and wash down with water. Can be taken with or without food. Use the included oral syringe or measuring spoon to ensure accurate dosing.
• Do not exceed recommended dose; consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.

Indications

• Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial).
• Relief of symptoms of urticaria (hives).

Action

Hitaxa Fast Kids blocks histamine H1 receptors, reducing allergic reactions without causing drowsiness, helping children stay active and attentive during the day.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to desloratadine or any excipients.

Side Effects

Common (up to 1 in 10): fatigue, dry mouth, headache. Very rare (up to 1 in 10,000): severe allergic reactions, rash, irregular heartbeat, fast heartbeat, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, muscle pain, hallucinations, seizures, restlessness, hepatitis, abnormal liver function tests. Frequency unknown: unusual weakness, yellowing of skin/eyes, increased sensitivity to sunlight/UV, heart rhythm changes, unusual or aggressive behaviour, weight gain, increased appetite, depressed mood, dry eyes.

Warnings and Precautions

• Consult a doctor if the child has kidney problems or a history of seizures.
• Keep out of reach of children; store below 25°C.
• Monitor for unusual reactions; contact a doctor immediately in case of severe allergy signs.
• Use caution when consuming alcohol while on the medication.

Use in Children

Not recommended for children under 2 years. Only use as directed for ages 2 and above.
