In Women
Moderate wine consumption and xylitol (a sugar substitute) initially appeared to be linked to improved insulin sensitivity.
However, after additional statistical adjustments, this association was no longer considered significant.
An interesting finding is that before menopause, women’s livers process lipids more efficiently than those of men of the same age, though these differences in older age are still not fully understood.
